Prices are calculated based on my knowledge of parrots and their needs. I am trained to recognize parrot body language and behavior, have basic first-aid training, and have extensive knowledge in what is required to keep parrots safe and comfortable. I want to make sure everyone has access to quality care and education, so adjustments may be made at my discretion to accommodate your budget and needs. For parrot care services, cross contamination will be carefully avoided between your bird, my birds and my other client's birds by ensuring newly cleaned clothing is worn on each visit and proper hygienic practices are strictly followed. I will treat every single visit with the highest priority and professionalism and will treat your birds as if they are my own.

Parrot Care Services

I require a home visit to meet you and your bird(s) and to consult before services begin. There is a non-refundable charge of $10 for the consultation for all care services due at scheduling. This amount will be deducted from the final price of services upon entering into a final, signed agreement. Scheduling a consultation does not guarantee that services will be provided. The purpose of the consultation is to make sure I am able to safely provide care for your birds in a way that meets your needs and that I am comfortable with.

In home visits will be provided for those in Bernalillo or Valencia county, New Mexico. Exceptions may be made depending on location and may include an increased price for longer trips or additional time needed.

Parrot Care Visits in Your Home

(non-overnight drop-in):

(minimum 1 hour per visit)

$30 per hour

To give your bird the best care I can, I suggest 2 hours per visit. You can choose to have longer visits on only one or multiple days. This will allow me to give them an hour of time outside of their cage to get exercise and enrichment while being supervised by myself. I require that owners fill out a detailed form about their bird's behavior and medical history. I can provide supervised, out-of-the-cage time with the birds as long as it is safe for myself and the birds to do so.

Visits include:

  • I will complete notes for each visit on my observations about your bird's appearance and behavior as well as each service I provided.

  • Bowl cleaning and refilling

  • I can provide fresh foods and treats. Fresh foods such as veggies and fruit will be provided only if 2-hour visits are purchased to ensure the birds have time to eat and I have time to clean their bowls out before I leave to ensure food does not sit all night. I will chop the food you wish to provide if necessary and clean up after I do so.

  • Area around cages swept and cleaned

  • Inside of cages cleaned up and paper replaced

  • I will give medication if I am able to do so safely and within my abilities (case by case basis - we can discuss)

  • Supervised time out of cage if bird is able to do so safely and is trained to enter and exit cage without issue.

  • A text message to let you know services were completed for the day. I can scan and send you daily notes if you request. I can also send you daily photos of your birds during and after services are completed.

  • I require that owners fill out a medical emergency form which details plans for if there is a medical emergency - owner must provide their veterinarian's information and give consent for treatment, at their cost, for any services provided to their bird.
